It is common for people, even Christians, to conclude that natural disasters, carnivores, and parasites are fundamental evils. They wonder why a good and powerful God would allow such "evils" to exist. Skeptics assert that the persistence of such "natural evils" is proof that indeed a good and powerful God does not exist.
